Bloody Mara….
Knitting has been rather slow recently, projects taking longer, not feeling the urge or the love for the needles, what’s wrong with me?
Must be a phase, will soon pass, I know.
Mara….
My Bloody Mara : 3 skeins of Madelinetosh Worsted in Oxblood, birthday gift from my lovely Coley. Saw her version instantly knew Oxblood had to be Mara.

Ruffles not quite 4 inches, just over 2.5 inches to be exact but I’m ok with that. Measurements: 148cm across, 68cm down centre to tip. Just love that pleat!

This is my first use of Madelinetosh yarns and it’s becoming a favourite, lovely on the needles, such intensity in colours, beautiful results. I want more.
Oops, just to let you know, I haven’t been on a crash diet and lost loads of weight, my hair is shorter but thats not me……it’s my skinny minny sister, bitch!

joli, joli! Bravo
oh elaine, you cut your hair???
what a lovely kntting and excellent choice of colour as usual!
casa
it’s the season for laying back…relaxing…but this Mara…oh, that is beautiful…perfect yarn choice…perfect color…perfect hair!! love..xx
Looks nice and squishy!
Beautiful shawl! And I love the name, Bloody Mara.
This wrap is lovely! Makes me think I can stick to my own. I have one on the needles in ginger – I like that it is less lacey shawl and more snuggly wrap! This color is perfect!
i want to see a picture of your hair!
I love that shawl.
I wish I wasn’t so poor, I would buy tons of new yarn to knit with. But I am such an ADD knitter that the love affair wouldn’t last so long. boo.
Lovely shawl. gorgeous.
lol
The shawl looks great! I have heard that Madelinetosh is great yarn, I would still like to try the sock yarn.
love the shawl, did the sister get to keep it?
oooh ! the colour is soooo nice ! I love it !
mmmm thank you for the name of the skeins… i guess i will soon try one of these

I love that. I keep looking at th eMadeline Tosh yarns, they look beautiful.
I just love the colour, so rich and warm. A really beautiful wrap !
I hadn’t seen that pattern–you knit it up so beautifully!
LOVELY!
Your Mara is beautiful! It’s such a fun shawl to knit. You’re right- that yarn is perfect for that shawl.
Very nice! Love the rich colour.
Hmm, must be like a bug going around. I haven’t done much knitting or crochet lately either…. lol, my blog is in need of a serious update.
Oh-so-beautiful!
Looks lovely, what a great colour.
Could it be the wheel distracting you from knitting?
Wow – the color is perfect and the shawl looks beautiful.
Wow…so beautiful!!! love the color!
Your version inspired me to knit my own mara, which I wouldn’t have known about without reading your blog! – I’m using malabrigo in velvet grapes which, I didn’t realise when I started, is very similar in colour to the madelintosh you’ve used! Also love the textured shawl which I think will be my next project, thanks for the inspiration yarnsnob!
Very pretty and feminine without being too girly.
It’s gorgeous! Love the colours.
