B a b e t t e……

……from The Rowan Cocoon Collection, beautiful soft yarn to knit with but very delicate. Pull too hard and the yarn breaks. I have to admit, this is not one of my loved projects. I love the design but I don’t feel I suit this at all. It makes me look like I’ve gained a few pounds instantly!

Overweight + Bulky yarn = ENORMOUS! I look like I’ve had just a few many cream cakes. It’s not for me which is a shame as I do love the design so without a doubt it will be gifted to a family member, who needs a few extra pounds added to their weight.

The sleeves also came out a little too long and I also blocked this too long on the body….silly me read the measurements wrong and s t r e t c h e d it like crazy. Ah well…..at least it covers my fat butt, but come to think of it….it emphasizes it!

Needles 6mm and 7mm

Button, from an old cardigan that Mr Snobs felted in the wash.

A very very warm snug cardigan for the winter. Love the yarn, love the design, just not for me :(

  1. I hate it when that happens! But I’ve given away knits before, too, for much the same reason. At least my recipient was a knitter, who understood all the work that went in to the sweater! (Jumper, to you?)

  2. oh…it’s beautiful and will be loved by someone…beautiful work and I liked the yarn,in fact I ordered more today…hmmm…didn’t have that problem of breakage…I must be on alert nexzt time!

  3. Lovely stitch definition! :)

  4. Wow, what a pretty sweater. I love the yarn you chose. And a new spinning wheel. wow!

  5. Beautiful and classy.

  6. Beautiful sweater!!

  7. What a gorgeous sweater – and generous gift!

  8. Beautiful work E. I’m sure the recipient will truly cherish it.

  9. To a family member….could it be me!

  10. Oh well – someone will love you for the beautiful gift :o )

  11. Hmm… I have the yarn/pattern for this and have queued it, but now I’m rethinking. I don’t need the extra poundage either. Shame, yours turned out so very lovely!

  12. What a shame that the cardi didn’t work out for you, it does look lovely and inviting! Like being wrapped in a cloud.

  13. Happy birthday my dear friend (17 days too late), but hopefully it’s always the good month!!! lol!!!

    bye bye girl

  14. Unless you gained a ton of weight since the photos of the purply sweater, I would not call you fat. Unless you really Photo-shopped that last photo set…

Nice of you to give it away though, I hope they appreciate it! I myself have stayed away from bulky yarn once I realized how huge it would make me look, even though I wouldn’t call myself fat. Good info to know about the Cocoon, thanks for sharing!
